ABOUT SWEET POPPY
Meet Michelle!

Chef Michelle is the founder and creative genius behind Sweet Poppy, the at-home bakery that brings childhood memories back through nostalgic baked goods. Chef Michelle’s love of cooking & baking began at a young age when she started baking her grandmother’s recipes with her mom (standing on a dining room chair.)  The very first recipe that Michelle learned to bake was her grandmother’s Poppy Seed Cake.  Just so happens that her sweetest memory in the kitchen is that very day.  The name Sweet Poppy was a no brainer when it came time to come up with a name for Michelle’s business.

Since opening business in January 2023, Michelle has been crowned the “Muffin Lady” by her devoted customers, friends, and family.  Aside from sharing her popular muffins and baked goods on social media, Michelle made her public debut at the 2023 Wine & Food Festival in Rhinebeck, NY.  Thousands of guests attended this two-day event where the consensus was to make sure Sweet Poppy was a repeat vendor year after year!

Chef Michelle is a graduate from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. She has been the Catering Director of the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel and the Assistant Catering Director behind the high-end catering company Main Course in New Paltz, NY.

Travel back in time...

When you take a bite into any Sweet Poppy baked goodie, you are immediately transformed to that “I remember when…” moment as a child.

Michelle wants her customers to leave with an experience when indulging in each bite.

Try a baked goodie for yourself and bring that inner child back out.
